THE MANAGERS OF M.I.D.A. INFORMATICA AND HYPERBOREA, AND THE REPRESENTATIVE OF METIS SYSTEMS FROM ITALY, VISITED IMPORTANT PUBLIC AND CHURCH INSTITUTIONS IN KOTOR, PERAST, CETINJE AND PODGORICA

According to the programme of stay in Montenegro, the representatives of the three Italian organizations visited several important public and church institutions which take care of archival, library and museum material. The purpose of these visits was for them to become familiar with the cultural heritage which is in the possession of Montenegro and to perceive the possibilities for the application of their software and highly advanced scanners, specialized for the processing of this kind of ancient archival and library material and museum artistic collections.

4th May 2009 - visit to Kotor Bishopric and the presentation of the programmes and equipment to the Bishop of Kotor, Monsignor Ilija Janić.

5th May 2009 - visit to the Kotor Historical Archives where the Italian experts were informed about the oldest archival documents in the possession of Montenegro State Archives.

6th May 2009 - visit to the State Archives in Cetinje and the meeting with the Director Stevan Radunović on which occasion the possibilities for the cooperation were discussed. Then, the visit to the King Nikola's Museum in Cetinje, where they were shown the museum exhibits and library material and software, which was in use in that institution, created by Aleksandar Berkuljan. The visit to the Central National Library of „Đurđe Crnojević" in Cetinje, where the products and services of the Italian companies were presented to  the Director of the Library Mrs. Jelena Đurović.

7th May 2009 - visit to the museum displays in the Arch-Parochial church of St. Nicholas in Perast and on the island of Our Lady of the Rock. The presentation of the products and services of the Italian companies to the parish priest Don Srećko Majić, and the discussion on possible cooperation. The visit to the Museum of the Town of Perast and familiarization with the museum heritage, as well as with the archival and library material stored there.

8th May 2009 - visit to the Real Estate Agency of Montenegro where the Italian experts were able to see the equipment and software at the disposal of that institution. Concurrently, they presented their products and services to the employees of the Agency. They discussed with the Director, Mr. Mićo Orlandić about the possibilities for cooperation, especially with regards to the digitization of old cadastre maps and registers.
